The most natural place in which to encounter a photograph is in an album, or reproduced in a book.
Despite the fact that photos have become increasingly larger in recent years,
the traditional scale of a printed picture is modest, something that can be held in the hand and in the eye.
For this show in Paris, near to where photography was invented, the installation will pair two photographs, then have a short space of wall,
then two more photos, two more, and so on. This will correspond to the way that you see pictures
reproduced side-by-side as left and right hand pages. To be in the show is to be in the catalogue of the show."

Le lieu le plus naturel pour une photographie, c’est l’album ou bien la reproduction dans un livre.
En dépit du fait que les photos sont devenues de plus en plus grandes au cours de ces dernières années,
le format traditionnel d’un tirage photographique est modeste — quelque chose qui peut tenir dans la main et dans l’œil.
Pour cette exposition à Paris, pas si loin du lieu où la photographie a été inventée, l’accrochage appariera deux photographies,
puis laissera apparaître un petit espace de mur, ensuite deux autres photographies, puis deux autres, et ainsi de suite.
Ceci correspond à la façon dont on voit les photos reproduites côte à côte en tant que page de gauche et page de droite. Être dans l’exposition, c’est être dans le catalogue de l’exposition."
